On manufacturer back order. I tried to buy it a month ago as my assembly number is in the range of recommended replacement with an upgraded part. Couldn’t find it so I was going to just use my original part.

I received remaining parts to finish the clutch job and get tranny in today. noticed mine has stress cracks adjacent to the brass bolt supports.

Anyone with idea on where to source it. I wouldn’t put in a used part. I have tried everywhere I could find. I will check more Maserati sites as same part used in those.

These are being re-manufactured by Hill Engineering; there is not an ETA, but they are absolutely "in the pipeline"

I'm not sure how that is possible; they are not even in production yet.

Got a broken one? Send me it and I'll make a CAD model and put it up on here for anyone to use to get a part made locally.

Good idea, however the original part was superseded in like 2003. So you would have to be sure you don’t waste your time doing a CAD, and having people fabricate the old style part.

Does the 430 use the same part? I suspect it does.

I know it cross references to a Maserati part.

from all these yeas, I have 4 version. I know that even on 360 there 's an early version and a late version. Also they have a manual version and an F1 version.

In the pic, what I am sure, is that the 3rd and 4th from left are from a 360 and a 430, because I tagged it.
I am suspecting the left most one is early style f1 360 one.
I also suspect that the left most one and the 2nd from left one are the same version, just that the 2nd one is damaged at the middle.

Actually, here are a couple of details from the 360 WSM

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

    Mine is 28mm
    Image Unavailable, Please Login

Looks like it’s the 30mm which is the updated part.

The 360 f1 and MT cars are the same part #

The 430 f1 and MT reference to the same part # , which is a DIFFERENT # than the 360 part so from my research NOT INTERCHANGEABLE WITH 360.

What are the pro’s doing when they run into a busted or outdated part?

um..... I just asked the 3d printing guy.
This one will cost a lot more than 59 british pounds, it will be about 20 days to produce it, too.

Thanks for checking, funny the 360 version is only 39 bucks, but it can’t be found so…

Also my concern is the material it would be 3D printed with, and would it have the brass bushings.

If this fabricated one-off untested part fails I bet it would be an expensive and time consuming mess.

My gut says unless it’s fabricated out of aluminum I would be very hesitant to have one made. I know the original is some sort of composite.

So what are the pros who see these cars on a regular basis doing when they run into this?

    24000rpm F1 Rookie

the 3d guy told me that they have the exact composite as what ferrari used, called ULTEM 1010 resin
I used it to print a small 355 part for a fellow chatter here, in white. They have black color too.

this material is exactly why it is very expensive.
For aluminium, it will be a lot cheaper.

The brass will be bought off the shelf and press fit into a 3d printed main body. Like the f1 actuator dust cover.

Thanks for all help and the advice. Do u have an idea on the price of fabrication (both aluminum and resin)

For aluminium, maybe around US$100. If you can 3d-print aluminium locally, I can make a 3d file for you, which will cost less.
For that resin thing, hell, i dont know, maybe US$200.

Just an FYI - there is another solution...

I did not realize it at the time, but my car had the manual clutch bearing holder replaced with the F1 studs and springs, probably/possibly because of the availability of the part issues, or maybe they thought it was a better solution than a plastic part. I did not realize this until Rifledriver pointed out that my car was incorrect. I'll admit, I was confused by the parts diagram at first but also why are there springs pushing the throwout bearing against the pressure plate?? If I was doing it over, I would leave out the springs!

The studs will definitely prevent rotation even if the lubrication evaporates, the cage disintegrates and the bearing seizes...

Interesting. The parts diagram has f1 and MT with the same plastic part, I believe for F1 it functions both as a mount for the sensor, and support/stop for the TOB. And the springs are in the diagram, I wouldn’t have the courage to delete them. They are not very robust springs, and I bet they also help with vibration dampening and kickback. I am not a pro and only am theorizing, and hopefully a pro can comment.

That stud is indeed interesting, is that with pros are using? Those little forks on the TOB don’t attach to anything, but do line up with two bolts for the flange 180 degrees apart.

We’re there two studs or just one used?

Who used that, was it Brian?

It may be a solution for me.

The 2 studs are OEM, and quantity of 2 are used per throw out bearing.

The plot thickens. I guess Ferrari updated to studs maybe when they went to the 30mm part.

Mine has 4 identical bolts securing the flange. No studs. The only thing preventing both travel and spin of TOB is this plastic part.

If you look at the pic in the WSM, there are no studs.

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

So the question is with studs, limiting travel and stopping spin is this plastic part even needed?
