Although it is a heavy piece of equipment and not a Ferrari, I need to know if anyone used a trucking company out of Chicago to transport equipment to the east coast? Also, is it easy to get around Chicago Heights area? Is it relatively safe?

I used to drive Trucks Back in the '80's for awhile. I haven't kept up with who's who in the Trucking world. So,I cannot recommend a Trucking Company, off hand that could handle your Heavy Machinery load. Is it an "Oversize Load" that requires extra Permits and such?

Chicago Heights is O.K. It has it's "Good" Area's and it's Not so Good. But nothing to worry about. But,I would definitely invest a few $$ in a "Chicago Area Viaduct Map". Since Chicago and alot of it's closer Suburbs in Cook County are very old. There are ALOT of Low Viaducts around. Mostly in the City, proper. But also in a few of the older 'Burbs. I don't think thats a problem there, though. Call up the Chicago Heights City Dept. and they could probably fill you in alot better than I can. Maybe even suggest a Hauler, too. Good Luck, and sorrry that I couldn't be of more help to you.

Totally agree on Heights and heights :))). It was a nightmare to get my Ferrari delivered because of some low overpasses.

If you're looking for a flatbed (48' - 53'), I'd recommend http://www.bowerstrucking.com/ . I've used them a couple of times with no problems. Their prices are usually better then anyone else I call. They usually require 48 hour notice for a pickup.
