    Question for the weight lifters:

I'm a fairly young guy in my early 20's, and due to genes or just plain bad luck, I have a small, slender body. I would like to put on some weight, maybe 25lbs or so of lean muscle, and get really toned.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

    Current size: 5'6" 135 lbs, 29" waist.

Please help....like to meet some beautiful women.

Wow. You are skinny. It's ok though :) . See, genetics has a HUGE part to play in size. I cannot stress that enough. For example, I am the shortest male in my family, my grandfather being 6'5", Dad 6'2", Uncle 6'7" other Uncle 6'9". But because of genes, my bone structure is very thick and solid, so I am predetermined to be capable of holding weight, and I do. I am 6' and 240lbs.

Working out also plays a large part, obviously, but it is how you work out. You could want to gain muscle and become completely ripped doing lots of cardio with weights and fast/intense workouts. Or, if you already are ripped, you can focus on larger muscle gains to become more of a solid, but firm, mass, with definition.

Also, control your diet to ensure you are eating proteins (vegetables and medium/rare red meat) to get the right amount of growth hormones. You could also use a supplement called Cell-Tech, which is quite good. I gained 60 pounds on that, and have kept most of it (went from 180 to 240). All natural, no steroids. But everyone is different (hence, genes), so it may not be that good to you, but it will definitely help. Feel a little better, because I gained all that weight working out 4-5 hours a day, plus running 9+ miles a week, in the Marines. I could not do that now though.

Basically, get some weights, start doing curls, lunges, tricep extensions, and rows. And eat red meat. You should be golden.

Just start lifiting everyday, thats really the only solution. Maybe go buy some creatine ( that helps a little with your overall size when you combine the lifting and creatine)

Just do some basic exercises too...bench, bicep curls, tricep extensions, ab-work, squats, calf raises, etc.

If you make the effort to lift everyday getting buff will come a lot faster then you think

The simple answer is hit the weights, get a trainer and look into supplements. If money is a problem just have a guy get you on a program and research the supplement thing. You will get a lot of recommendations to the above from various people.

Also, this is a VERY good site to learn about bodybuilding and technique.

    www.steroidology.com

Alot of information about supplements, steroids, and definite first hand experiences. And I think the site is run by Stone Cold.

Go work out, and take some Creatine. Mix it with like Gatorade or something along those lines. Drink it during and after your work out type thing. other than that, just stick at it.

I dont recommend steroids at all, just eat right and have a scheduled workout plan. Its really about determination. If you want muscle really bad, instead of devoting time to the computer and other lazy things(I'm gonna get nailed for that one); go outside and lift weights, run, or other workout(jump-roping is good and it improves your coordination). To make it less boring; Do your curls inside, and watch tv while doin them. I build my pecs while having fun kayaking. Its not gonna happen overnite and it will taake a while to see changes.

I started working out about 40 minutes a day, plus joggin and soccer. I've gotten a little stronger, and gained some weight. What I really like is popping your veins in and out, thats fun. My signature muscle is my abs, 100 krutches a nite while wachting Jay Leno or seinfeld will do the trick. But I'm still short. I am 5' 3" and 15 years old. And tired of literally looking up too people. Maybe I should go to a midget fest or soemthing to boost my self esteem. Any pointers on how to activate more of my growth hormones?

Dude, some women like fat dudes... Not hugely, obesely fat, but... substantial... With that said, there are women out there who like skinny dudes... Don't be so quick to get all beefcake just for some dates... Just be yourself... Think about it, do you want to date a women who will only go out with you 'cause you're all brody with no neck...? She's the same girl who wouldn't give you a second look when you're skinny... Think about it... Just be YOU... No one can do that as good as you can...

Well, yeah, you're right about that...But I think getting toned a little will give me some more self-confidence. Not that I need any though.

I'm just tired of looking average, when I can get a little "buff" and look hot for a change.

FYI, I do not condone, use, or recommend steroids in ANY form, unless doctor prescribed. IMO, steroids are a cheapskate way. And unless you plan on taking them for the rest of your life, you will quickly lose ALL the gains you had. I hate steroids. I had a friend who used them, and he became all sorts of moody and angry all the time. I stopped being his friend after that. But he did brag about his weight gain.

Natural bodybuilding is the way to go. Correct diet, weights, and cardio will work wonders on you.

You could also try and broker jets. Wait, never mind, we figured out that one didn't work too.

Church group in TX, nah, that didn't work either.

    Ever meet Debra Norville?
