If I am not mistaken, if they go over 100 miles/km, don't they reset after the factory? That would explain the 1km.

I heard that dealers of most car makes are usually able to easily and legally reset mileage, but just ONCE, thus being able to deliver cars with near-zero mileage in case they arrive with more miles.

We know Ferraris are additionally test driven, but for most makes, cars are driven around cargo areas in ports, up and down ships, up and down trucks, etc. If you're buying a car that's in stock in a nearby dealer, they might drive it to your dealer (say 50-100 miles) instead of fleeting a truck for transport, then they might reset the counter.

I think 30 would be about right, for the one Factory test session, if a car has problems, sometimes they return to the Factory and test it again, doubling that...to 75 or so....

I also think the Dealer can reset it (once I think, maybe twice) to "Zero", but I would almost prefer it be left alone to remind you a Professional Driver has tested your machine for you!

    Enjoy ....and drive safely!!!

I am a little shocked that dealers can reset the odometer... It doesn't matter who drove the car, a mile is a mile. They shouldn't be allowed to reset it. I also find it hard to believe that someone would be concerned about 30 miles on their new 458.

On the earlier digital instrument panel cars through the F430, it took special software and removal of the instrument cluster to reset the odometer. FAI in California are the only ones in the States who can do it that I know. Not sure if that has changed or not. Letting dealers reset odometer mileage is not a good idea.

Ferraris get delivery mileage, but US cars are typically delivered with very low mileage. I had 5 new Z06 Corvettes and the highest mileage at delivery was 6 miles and the lowest 2.

That is very normal the average is about 35 miles. They want to make sure everything works. Relax and enjoy your car. Don't let it be a garage queen. ;)

That is very good and close. They almost drove the same exact amount of mileage in reverse during testing. LOL

Yes, they are delivery test mileage. They can have up to around 80 miles maybe even 101, the highest I've seen.

In the US, there are laws that prevent the rollback of odometer mileage. But there is a limit to the rollback. 600 miles then it can't be reset. But under that it can be reset up to 3 times. Most likely the factory has already used up one of the resets.

I would never trust a car with no mileage, that just means that no one ever checked it out.

If this is your biggest problem you do have a problem. Further who buys a new 458 and doesn't have a couple of quick snaps to share with the boys / and gals.
