    Hi all,

Found this F355 I have been looking at.
Car is a 97 B (5.2) with 47k miles. Car seems to be in good condition and has several maintenance receipts (i have not yet seen the car in person).

Last cambelt service was in 2013. Car had 2 services since then.

    Very last service included
    - fluids changes;
    - replacing released bearings and seals"
    - replaced cracked wheel inserts on both OS alloy wheels
    - replaced both inner CV boot gaitors as split
    - replaced rear brake shoes

but after all that, there's a technicians' report in the end that mentions:

    "further / potential works:
    - Bonnet struts weak
    - both reat inner wheel arch liners cracked
    - wheel spacers fitter to car
    - both entine mounts starting to drop
    - oil pressure gauge intermitently not working. requires further investigation, but suspect possible wiring fault in loom or gauge. oil pressure is fine on car"

Can someone please share thoughts on this, whether this could uncover any potential issues?

    Many thanks in advance

The last service was not very much more than draining some fluids. As far as the cracked liners, wheel inserts, engine mounts... they ALL do that. That is very very routine.

prima facie car seems fine......nothing serious....get a PPI done esp on the engine compression/leak down.....besides that check on the break pads/disks wear as well....

Or the oil pressure sender (below the oil filter). I found one of the electrical connections on the oil pressure sender broken on mine (may have been damaged on the last engine out). I had to change the sender.... Relatively cheap to purchase. A 24mm spanner required and possibly a heat gun. Use a combination of penetrant, heat and muscle, but not too much muscle. The cast aluminium base is expensive to replace if it breaks. A copper washer came with the sender.

as others have said.....no issues...just minor stuff that could occur on any used car.

Thank you all. To be safe I should probably budget a major with cambelt, water pump rebuild, new clutch and brakes I think..

Wait til you've read the paperwork - it may be that waterpump and/or clutch and/or brakes have recently been done

Good thinking to play it safe, all the potential stuff is fairly inexpensive.
Struts are like $30 each, I just bought 4 new ones.
Oil pressure sending unit is .... I think less that $200, replaced mine awhile back.

Also if in London you should be able to find a F chat member with a 355 to go with you to see the car ;)
