For what its worth, I bought a 928S4 from Terry a few years ago, and it was a very smooth transaction - I would do business with them again. He's a good guy (although he has had some real clowns working for him - they didnt take me seriously - I'm local - two times, even after I bought from them). His cars are always very nice, as advertised, but priced very high. I get the feeling that he doesnt rush to sell the cars, but I would assume that there is pretty good room to negotiate. C
Well the seller just responded to me and will not accept anything less than his original asking price. Perhaps he's a dreamer, and willing to wait many, many months for a buyer. But if it indeed is truly a mint concourse car - it is worth $39k. In theory. Because the problem is that very few people want a concourse 1982? Buyers looking to actually 'drive' their first Ferrari wouldn't bother paying a concourse car's premium. And wealthier collectors want a concourse 1989 328, or a carb, or a QV 308. 1982 is certainly an odd year to keep a 308 in concourse shape. So thanks to all here for points to note. And I will pass on this 1982 308. I just want a solid 308 or solid 328. I don't really need a total virgin car, because I'm a slob and will blow the consourse value in a few months with burn holes and spilt coffee. I want to enjoy my first Ferrari, and worrying about every mile I add to a concourse car, or every little feather scratch, would spoil all the fun. So concourse is out of my decision making. Cool, now I narrowed things down a bit. And, garage queens may have nasty surprises that 'looks' alone don't suggest. Sorry I am just ranting a bit now, I'm just glad I narrowed my search by eliminating all advertised 'concourse' or ultra-low mileage cars from my way. Thanks guys.
Excuse me if I am wrong. I read through about half of these posts, and I kept feeling an awareness of being here before, kept thinking your name reminded me of something, then it dawned on me. Your the guy with the thread about putting an automatic transmission in a 308 or a Testarossa. You also made some other posts about some other rediculous ideas. I was going to say a lot more, but then realised I didnt have to when you mentioned spilling coffee and putting cigarette burns all over the interior. Next month it will be the 308 GT/4 show car for $65K
You made the right decision to pass on this car. It is NOT worth 39K, period. You can do better for less. Good luck.
I was kidding about the burn holes and coffee. I'd assume most people understood it's just an exaggeration.
