    Hello,

Ok, this may be a totally newb question, so please forgive me. I am new the Ferrari ownership (not even a full week yet!)

Anyways, I can not for the life of me figure out how to attach the license plate frame to the car. It appears that the vehicle on has holes for the BOTTOM screws of the plate/frame?

Most of the license plate frames I have seen attach via bolts on the top, not the bottom. Any ideas?

    Larry congrats on the car.

You are talking about the front plate, correct?

If so, do a search for "355 front plate" and you'll find a bunch of info.

I don't use one (Though I keep it in the car). I could get stopped but I'll take the risk considering you would have to fabricate something to make it work.

    FYI - Mine has four.........

I had to go look 'cause it's been awhile since I put it on. Take a pict, if you can, and we'll try and help. But, I think it should have been straight forward.

    Picture is attached.

Sorry for the cruddy quality, I took it in my garage quickly.

The red circles represent the top holes of my license plate and frame. As you can see, it is painted body underneath (which would obviously not be good to just screw directly into).

The 'working' bolt holes at the bottom are the square white things. There is not enough depth to install those things at the top.

    Does this make sense now?

    Sure, I understand.........

I can take mine off tomorrow to check but I could feel the same type of bracket behind my plate. I also confirmed all four screws are in place. It seems a little odd that they are not there on your car. I'm guessing mine has the same plastic pieces inserted into the bumper.

Sorry I can't help more. If you need me to I'll take picts in the AM.

Ironically I too am attaching a temp-plate and the top screw threads are stripped and have to find new ones. Any one know?

I remember when I got the car............. I didn't want to wait. The picts would have been better with more light in the AM but these will do.

The screws are screwed right into the bumper. I'm guessing a starter whole with a drill, then just screw it in.

I have not had any problems with mine.

Thanks for the info. Not sure I want to just screw directly into the body like that.

I would imagine if the bolt hole got stripped somehow, I'd be screwed. There must be a better way!

    There is...........

Have someone weld two nuts to the plate where the hole are and screw it into that.

Still looking for a better solution than drilling into the body.

Not sure that the welding would work (and it would be a PITA to find someone to do it!) b/c then the bottom would not be equal. Of course, both top and bottom would have to be welded, and the plate would then not sit flush.

I can not believe no one else in the world has a 355 and DOESN'T have this problem? Are people not putting license plates on their vehicles?

    What am I missing?

Hi: I have my plate on, but only use two bolts to attach it to the bottom of the bracket. Nothing at the top.
