    Hello! I just purchased my first ferrari this fall,(84 308 gtb) and love it! But Im really interested in locating one of the 84 gts qv that was used in the filming of Magnum p.i. later on in the series. Its my understanding that there were 2 of these,along with 1979, 1981 gtsi. Anyone have any ideas on how to locate one of these qv cars? I guess this is what happens when you watch three old episodes of Magnum p.i. on dish network.ha!

    There are at least 250 threads here referring to 'magnum 308' so the chances are there's a clue or even a fact in one of them

    One of the original Magnum cars was for sale about 30 miles North of me in Longmont Colorado last Spring-Summer. I believe it was on Ebay, the price was higher than I was willing to pay , the Magnum cars carry a premium.
    Good luck , it would be fun to own one with that history.

    the "supposed" Magnum car has been to the Cavallino event event in FL a few times.

    Steve, Thanks for the heads up on the car near you! I took Greyboxers advise and started searching threads pertaining to "magnum" Found more than enough "I knew a guy who knew a guy who spilled coffee on the neighbors shoe of the owner of one of these cars" Boy! This subject has been covered quite a few times with no closure on the subject. I think if I could obtain the vin. numbers of these cars the rest should be fairly easy! So, Does anyone have any suggestions on obtaining the vin.#? Im sure contacting Universal studios would be a waste of time.

    There wa a rumors that RICK Magnums friend from the show bought the 308 but I don't know exactly wich model he bought.

    I watched an English programme (Dream machine I think) about restoring a 308. It featured one of the cars from the series, and the babe (Amanda Stretton) interviewing the buyer said he was a retired surgeon. It was still in Hawaii.
    Owners name was Ara Ketenjian. Licenseplate MAGPI 1 :D

    But all this is like 3-4 years ago or so.

    There were 3 84-85 Qv's used on the show, two are still around one was so badly cut up that it did not make it (as far as I know) I know where both cars are and have offered the owners ridiculous money and have been turned down. Now this has been a while and I probably need to contact them again but that is what I know to date.

    I could have bought one of the 2V injected cars (it was an 81) years back for $41K. I actually went and looked at the car. It was pretty rough and at the time I thought the price was high. It did sell and went to CA.
