    Hello,

    My name is Aaron Pass with Microsoft Game Studios. We are currently in the development stages of a new racing game for the Xbox 360. A car that we would love to have in the game is the 288 GTO. As you are all aware, this is an extremely rare car. I am writing to you because we need to locate one of the cars for a photo shoot. These images will be used for reference for the 3D modelers. Do you know of any owners in the Northwest, preferably Seattle area? If not in the Northwest, what about anywhere? If you could please write back to me (hopefully with good news that you want to help us out) that would be great or with contact information of some owners. Please email or PM me if you are interested in participating. [email protected]. We do not drive teh cars at all as all the images are of the car stationary.     There should be plenty much closer, but the owner of Ferrari of Houston has one in his collection.

    But most likely a West Coast owner will step up......

    I'm pretty sure Ron Tonkin still owns one in his collection. He's down in Portland. Easy to contact, as well.

    If the photos are for use by modelers, why dont you just go purchase a 1/18 scale model? Hell, I have one I'll sell you.

    We are going for the most realistic racing simulator ever made. Interior and Exterior. This is going to be a very amazing game.

    www.tonkin.com has a car in your area, and will likely let you shoot it, if you approach them correctly. Not just any GTO, but the LAST one built...

    How would it be realistic if all you will take are pictures. What about the sound, the handling, performance, etc? Don't you need to drive it for that?

    Sounds like a great game! Please let us know if you are successful in finding one to photograph, and let us know when it's available. (Can't afford a real GTO. ;) )

    You can drive a 288GTO in Test Drive Unlimited. I'm sure there are other games as well.

    A good friend of mine has one, and already has one car that such was done for Project Gotham 1 for Xbox. His 288 GTO is in Michigan, which is a bit further away then you are asking.

    In the mean time... I have to respond to this statement.

    Without a true Force Feedback API in the 360, how can you hope to make the most realistic simulator for the 360? Forza 2 feels terrible with the Microsoft wheel because of it. I own most MS racing games, a few PS3 racing games, and numerous PC racing games as well. Will Microsoft be updating the software in the 360 to make it work right???

    @Aaron - Can you tell us any more information about the game? I am pretty certain that I will get it - I think I have every racing game that has had a Ferrari in it for the last 15 years.

    1. We do have another team that does audio and many other things to make the game very realistic

    2. I cannot disclose the name of the game as it is highly confidential. And no hints sorry, I don't want MS lawyers after me :)

    3. Ron Tonkin is moving and currently is unavailable to help us, but we have worked with him in the past. We are looking for another one right now.
