Warranty is up and dealers are 3 hours away so I was hoping to source out a service/repair manual for the FF. Might come in handy for those minor things that pop up. Can anyone out there help?As Red Green a Canadian comedian says "If she doesn't find you handsome she better find you handy." so a little help here guys.

All of the current models factory technical documentation is online. Only accessible on Ferrari's internal service website.

They should be. I believe it's the law in the USA. Not so much in Canada yet..

So I have heard. It's getting very difficult and expensive for us techs to keep up to date. I'm honestly thinking of shifting gears and working for the tesla dealer that is about to open in our city. Seems like everyday there is a new tool to buy, or software to buy...it's getting to be more trouble then it's worth.

Tesla sounds intriguing although they may want electrical engineers versus mechanics but considering they still have wheels, brakes and other car components you might be busy. Although if you thought that being a farm tractor mechanic would alleviate the constant training and specialized tools you would be wrong as technology is constantly improving and moving forward. I know a guy that had a small BMW dealership in our little town that gave up due to the constant change and requirements for diagnostic equipment up grades.
Good luck in your future endeavours where ever it may take you.

We have been talking to the Tesla people here! Building a service center this year, they weren't interested in any sublet or share deal, but have expressed interest in our expertise on general stuff.

Absolutely agree. The investment costs to work on these cars has rocketed over the last few years, as has insurance etc. I earn far more out of fixing Aston Martins than Ferrari's!

Ferrari only makes available that which is required by law. OBD related and then only the minimum required. Even that violates many federal requirements but they are not enforced because it is not an environmental issue but becomes a trade issue. It would be a winning legal position but it would be a hollow and expensive victory. Ferrari could be forced to license us access but they would just price us out of the market.

The real screwing here is to the owners but for me anyway I am at the age it will not matter a great deal longer.

People wonder why I tell young guys to stay the hell away from the Ferrari business.

I have located a 100 page FF work shop manual but the seller wants $1000. If there is enough interest I can buy it and split the cost amongst others here that are interested and send them out a full colour PDF file. I'm thinking $150.00 each if I can find 5 interested as I do not have a problem spending $250 for my copy.

PM me if you think you might be interested. Could do the transaction through Paypal just send your email address so I can send the PDF out.

You'd better see it before you buy it. 100 pages sounds a bit thin to me. An Owners Manual is typically 150-200 pages. A Workshop Manual is typically more than a thousand pages.

Mark- 100 pages does not sound like a WSM, more like part of an owners manual. As an example, the 599 GTO WSM I have is 1324 pages, and I cannot believe the FF manual would be less considering its 4WD system. Even the FF owners manual is 292 pages, so I doubt you are going to get too much of anything in 100 pages.

It would be cheaper to buy a weeks subscription to techinfo and download the user manual a section at a time.

100 pages of "Being developed" and instructions on changing oil or more likely 100 pages of "Code P3204 is open circuit to front transmission shift solenoid". Presupposing I ever let one in the shop it will be to fix the front drive system or just remove it altogether.

I visited one of my counterparts in one of the countries big service departments a while back and he asked if I missed it. I laughed and asked him how much he loved fixing infotainment systems.

    Why bother?

Although I can appreciate the "I want to be able to fix it" approach, aside from general maintenance like brakes and oil changes, the days of backyard wrenching are mostly over for modern cars.

Even if you do have the manual - and even if you can fix or replace the part - chances are it's going to need a Ferrari computer to reprogram - and you'll be back at the dealer anyway.

    Exactly!

Take a look at McLaren, an oil change requires a factory level comm re-set!

Replacing a battery in a Bentley requires about 2 hours of systems resets.

Now that is what I call digital malfeasance. My favorite most recently stolen term.

Yup. You must go through a list of rests and thats after you tell the car you replaced the battery. Ever had one where the 1/4 Windows only go about 1/3 of the way up after resetting?Or the seats no longer work with full range adjustments? Add another 2 hours to sort that out too.
