Ok, so about a year ago I had the big "unveiling" of my 'new' F-car with my Porsche friend and he just loved it. Exactly what I was going to buy up to that point was a surprise, and to the day he thought I got a Lotus, till I showed up in my 328. It was a great surprise.

Last summer he too got the itch to get a Lotus and was frantically shopping for one the whole summer long. Winter came and around here all of the cars get stored. About 2 months ago he told me he did get something special. He gave me a number of clues and I tried to guess what it was using them. I couldn't guess it.

Then a mutual friend told me what he got. So now I am trying to decide how to turn the tables on him when he shows up with the car in spring. He lives in an apartment building, so I can't get to the car, it's in the garage. I found out he, rather than getting a Lotus, got an 87 or so 300ZX Twin Turbo, during winter he's been busily souping it up. (He's aggressive like me) So how do I surprise HIM!?!

I was thinking of ordering a 300ZX T-shirt and hat, so when he comes to pick me up in spring I'm already wearing it. But can you guys think of anything better?

Did you ever think maybe YOU got "punk'd" by your buddy? Maybe he purposefully gave you the wrong information? Or maybe he really DID get a Z car, and wants you to THINK he got something else, so he sent his friend to tell you otherwise, knowing you'd be suspicious...

You know you have to much money when....

You use cars to punk people.

In all seriousness I think the hat and shrit thing would be pretty funny.

Or maybe he wants you to think he thinks you think you know because he thinks you think he knows you think you know............

Actually the info he gave me was correct, but I had my mind on exotic cars, which it's not. Some of the clues were:

There were 325 made like this model
There were only 25 brought into Canada
This "style" was only made 3 years(I think by style he meant convertible)
    It is a convertible.
    It is fast!

I was originally guessing it was a AC Cobra, or something, or maybe an Aston Martin, but then I found out.

I love the idea of smashing the model up. I'm gonna think about that one. :)
Another idea I had was to print the name "300ZX" really big on paper, cut it up, and mail it anonymously piece by piece over the next few weeks.

    Still, keep 'em coming!

Tell your mutual friend YOU changed the 328 for a 300ZX (and obviously you have ordered the uber-power kit).

F1Ace, you mention your friend is in Canada...

When you smash the model, be sure to attach a note that says "Zed's dead buddy...Zed's dead".

I'm sure the Nissan guys are scratching their heads right now..

    First off, there was no twin-turbo '87 300zx. They're all single-turbo.

Secondly, there was no "2nd gen" (84-89) convertibles made. There were also no Twin Turbo '90-up 300zx's convertibles built (all were naturally aspirated @ 220~hp).

The 300zx convertible was made from '93-'96, so the time-line at least matches there.

If you really want to get him, just mail this with no return address:

Tell him you got a video about an incredible car, then hand him a "My Fair Lady" VHS or DVD.

"Fairlady" is the other name for Z's.

I think you're right, I don't know where I got the 87 year from. I did have the picture of the current (or last) style of the 300 in my mind which must have come from somewhere.

    I like the quote, thanks!

I came up with a twist on the T-shirt idea. I'll get a 300ZX T-shirt and hat like I planned, but then across them both I'll spray paint "SUCKS!" This will of course be in removable paint, so I can give him both items after. How does that sound?:)

    Well he beat me!

I have the T-Shirt on order but he actually had it in the Car Show before my T-shirt showed up, so I guess he beat me. He did laugh at the idea of the smashed model, so kudos to that one!

Here are some pics! And can you believe that this car has under 9000 k's on it!?! That's like 5500 miles! He's gonna probably sell it in a few weeks. I guess some guys like the work!
