Help me verify one-off factory color

    I have a 2000 Maranello 550 painted Rosso Monza factory original paint. The original owner paid $3,000 extra when the car was ordered to have it painted in this "out-of-range" color. As far as I can tell, mine is the only 550 painted this color but am having difficulty verifying this to be the case. I have emailed Ferrari but have not been able to get a reply. Does anyone know how to go about verifying details such as this? Is there a data base that we can access?

    Hi,
    If you go to a official ferrari dealer with VIN they are able, by access to a database ferrari, to know what was the delivery characteristics and or options.
    I think this is an easy way, if dealer is "friendly..."
    If dealer is not friendly or not near ... can send me a PM and I will ask to my friend.... but now closed for holiday....

    The support thro the owners website might be able to get confirmation but as it would require them to look at the information from a slightly different viewpoint it may not happen (this could be the route you have already tried - but don't forget hoildays etc if you only recently asked)

    That license plate looks like it is from the Netherlands.
    License plate in the video is JV-557-J.

    I don't speak Dutch, but I think this website is saying that it is a 1997 Ferrari.
    Note that the "F 133" is the type of V12 engine that is in a 550.

    ? JV557J: Ferrari F 133 auto

    The OP mentioned his 550 was a 2000 car.

    So, it sounds like there might be at least 2 Ferrari 550 cars painted Rosso Monza.

    Ferrari also offered a color called "Rosso Fiori" which looked similar to the Rosso Monza but had more of an orange tinge to it.
