    Am after some opinions...

Over the last couple of weeks, the Murci has developed a knocking from the engine bay area behind. It sounds like it's low down just behind the glass screen.

I've tried to discount a few things:

-I don't think it's the clutch as it happens when it's pressed and depressed.
-The car has no loss of power at all, so I don't think it's an engine problem.
-The car doesn't behave any differently on the road, so I'm assuming it'd not the suspension.

It only occurs when the car's hot and gets worse the longer you drive it. If you leave it for 10 mins, so stops and then comes bck again.

It's a metallic knocking/rubbing kind of noise... It also doesn't do it when the car's stationary.

The dealership has had it once and they changed the anti roll bar ball joints at the front. (why they did, I don't know as it's obvious it was coming from the back...), but it's still there, and they're not sure what it is. They said it may possibly be the rear ones.

    Any ideas?

I just can't get it sorted for a week or two and am worried it's something really serious.

Could be the roll bar - heat expands - causing it to rub against the sub frame... Is it happening when stationary or only when moving?

I would have to say - don't drive it until you find out what the problem is...

    It only happens when moving.

I'm not using it at all, but there's a 150 mile drive to get it back to the dealer as they don't have collection and delivery so far away...

A total shot in the dark here, but could it be the exhasut knocking on something? Have you had any work done recently that has changed anything?

That's the other thing the dealer mentioned it might be. I've a Tubi fitted a couple of months ago...

I'm just amazed they seemed to do the first thing they came across and not thoroughly investigate the whole car.

Does the knock have a frequency? If so does it increase with speed (this would lead me to believe it would be something regarding the axles, bearings, wheel)? Or with Engine speed (as the engine revs faster does the sound repetition. increase along with and in accordance the revs)?

or, it could be as simple as the carbon fiber mouldings around the back window touching. Mine did. Easy fix!

Neither, it doesn't change in frequency with speed nor revs. It's irratic and has that "something is loose" sound.

It's definitely a mechanical sound. However, I had a noise last night and a piece of CF moulding is a bit loose...

I'm sure it's nothing serious. Will find out in a few days.
