I am a new Ferrari owner. I did not purchase from a dealer and, as such, need a referral to a reputable Ferrari Service Center. The location needs to be in the North Dallas or Denton area. I have considered visiting Lambo of Dallas, or Boardwalk Ferrari... but wanted to see if any of you have used other places that have a good reputation and you've been happy with the quality of service. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Norwood Performance. www.norwoodperformance.com They're over by Love Field and do excellent work, especially on th 308 series. Were you on Sherman Drive yesterday around 1?
Robert Rogers at Shadetree in Nevada (east of Lake Lavon in Collin County) is also highly recommended. Search the 348 forum and you will find some good reviews. However, don't be suprised if he is backlogged and it may take a week or so to wait for an appointment. However, depending upon what your needs are, he can usually find a spot for you. Many agree that his experience and services are well worth the wait. His phone number is 972-843-8134. Regards, Jeff Dallas, Texas
So far it seems that Norwoods is the place to hang when getting service done. I'll have to go check them out this week. Does anyone know the name of the owner or the head mechanic that I should be dealing with? T P.S. Thanks again for the help. I am new to this message board as well as Ferrari ownership... but from what I have seen so far... there are no strangers in the world of Scuderia Ferrari!! Cheers.
I'll put in highest praise for Norwood Perf as well. Mike Dunn is the front desk man, James Patterson is owner...Mike will set you up and James will take care of you. You can't find better independent Ferrari service in Dallas.
are norwoods and shadetree about equal in price or is one a little more expensive? i was planning on taking my 328 for it's major service over to Norwoods in the next couple of months but a post mentioned about how pricey they were? true? i'm about to buy another one (512TR) so I want to start a good relationship with either but don't want to get unecessarily hosed TIA
James @ Norwood Performance will receive the highest of recommendations from everyone. He is very experienced with the cars and is honest as the day is long. JP
James speaks the truth. Don't hesitate to take your car to him. "Hosing" is a non-relevant term here. In all fairness...I've visited Shadetree, met Robert, and have heard good things about them.
I cannot speak for Shadetree, but James @ Norwood Performance did service on my 308 back in October and I was very happy with the service, the communication while they had the car, and the pricing. Highly recommended.
thanks for your response... i certainly wasn't meaning to flame your setup at all and hope it wasn't taken that way. in fact, i've been meaning to give y'all a call to set up a good time but have just been procrastinating as the weather is finally turning nice. but just recently someone PM'd me about something else and mentioned how pricey Norwoods was. i was none the wiser and thought i should ask before i came in james - you and i actually spoke in early october last year. i was the guy in Midland who was thinking about a certain 328 and had a couple of questions about it that you took the time and answered them all. the one thing that sticks out to me was that you were very emphatic saying "Don't let anybody in Midland touch it" I found that humorous but true i'll be calling you soon
I did not take it as a flame at all, I know there are a few good options for Ferrari service in the area so I wave the Norwood flag whenever I can.
Norwoods is highly regarded, and I personally have used Shade Tree for major work on two occasions. Robert Rodgers is similar to Norwoods in that he doesn't cut corners, and he will fix the things that need fix'n that you didn't even know about.
Another happy Norwood customer here. James is one of the best in the country and cares for your car as if it were his own.
Just tell 'em that you're not interested in any of this "Git 'er done" business. You want "Got 'er done!"
