I have no knowledge of the 458 as I am a 550 Maranello owner, but ALL Ferraris have electrical gremlins. Here are some suggestions based on issues encountered with earlier models: 1. Do not start the car immediately, give it a few seconds to "learn" that you're in the car before turning the ignition on and starting. 2. Lots of issues with poor grounding and batteries that aren't fully charged. Check your battery cables for tightness & corrosion, and see if your battery will pass a "load" test.
Be helpful if you scan the body ecu to read the fault code. Could be something as simple as a faulty antennae in the steering column. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Were you able to fix the Immobilizer malfunction on your 458? I am experiencing the same problem with my 2011 458 Italia.
Ensure you have no other RFID devises on your key chain. Gate fobs, office fobs even other keys from other brands can corrupt signals. rule out the external concerns first. The antenna is located around the ignition tumbler and the chip is in the key.
I have never seen an antenna fail or have issues. It has always been a damaged key or external interference.
