    Help needed please guys.

I've just taken the battery out of my '93 348 to recharge it and now it's back in I can't start the car.

When I turn the key to start I get a fast 'click-click-click' from the engine bay which sounds like a relay. Battery seems fully charged.

Hopefully this will sound familar to somebody. Had the car since 2000 and never had this before.

Why take the battery out of the car for a re-charge? You battery probably needs to be replaced. Cheap troubleshooting for $80 IMO.

I'd run it low as I'd left the interia light on....not going to buy a new battery just because of that.

A fast "click-click-click" indicates that the battery is too weak to operate the starter. Do you have a voltmeter to check the battery? Do you have some jumper cables? Do you have a good battery from another car that you could install as a test? I'd say that there is about a 98% chance that the battery is your problem. It might still take a recharge, but if it's more than three or four years old, just replace it. It's not worth having it cr^p out when you are away from home.

Edit: Of course you need to make sure that your battery connections and cable connections are clean and tight, but if they were OK before you ran the battery down, they are probably OK now.

Kragen can do a REAL fast check on the functionality of your alternator. That may be your problem if you battery is draining fast.

The battery may seem fully charged, but it may have dropped a cell. Get someone to put a voltmeter across the battery terminals as you crank the car and see what the voltage reads while cranking. Anything under 10volts is sluggish and nearing 9volts you may as well throw the battery away. Yours will be the latter I think. :)

    Yup...+1

The click is the solinoid to the strater motor not getting proper juice. Check your grounds/connections. Load test the battery.
