I have a 95 355 spyder whose top is not functioning. Any recommendations for a local guru in the Washington DC/Northern Virginia Area?

Does it make any noise at all??? It may just need Hydraulic fluid, very easy to do unless you like to spend money at the dealer .

Here is a step by step post by my good friend and fellow F355 spider owner chaa posted:

    What are the symptoms?

Have you tried the emergency override button?

355 tops typically "fail" when the pots in the seat tracks give up, or when the relay for the system dies, or when low on hydraulic fluid, or when the top cross-bar gets stuck down.

I had to fill the hydrauic fluid reservior on my 355, does this indicate that there is a leak?

    Thanks

I don't think so. I had to 'top mine off' too and I do not see a leak anywhere...... I don't know what happens to it  !!

Where that oil goes is one of life's great mysteries.

Unlikely. Seems some cars (mine included) require occaisional "topping off". Mine will go from the "max" line to the "min" line in 18 months or so... No visible or active leaks found...I have a couple friends 355 spiders that do the exact same thing. Then again, I know a couple others that seem to never lose a drop! :)
