I have a 1989 t and my AC fan only runs on high. If I turn the fan dial to the middle, it does not run. But if I press the A/E button then it runs on slow as well as high. When AC button is pressed the fan comes on only when I turn the dial to max (high). Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

I tried to run a search but did not find anything specific to this topic. Maybe didn't run the search properly but if anyone can tell me what could be the cause or point me to a thread that has this top I would greatly appreciate it.

    Hi

If only 2 things work: off or full speed: regulators are broken. I don't know how the Mondial T is in this department, perhaps it has a potentiometer in the fanspeedknob as the QV: n°7.

I had the exact same problem. My mechanic replaced a transistor somewhere in the system because the fan speed unit #8 in the diagram was not available. I will ask him exactly what type of transistor and where he put it.

So the question is that if the transistor is bad will it still work with A/E but not with AC button? Did you have the same problem where it was working fine when A/E was pressed but not when AC was pressed?

I don't recall if the failure was only when AC was pressed - I think that it failed with either.

Mine is intermittent. I do not have A/C but love the strong fan. Except when it does not run at all. This morning it ran fine until I stopped to shop. Then did not run again for the rest of the day.

Its not all that big a deal where I live. Today is hot at about 90F but always low humidity. Both windows down and the sunroof opened about six inches and the general air flow is very good. But when stopped [which is rare enough] I do miss the vent fan.

What model/year/version F? If a TR, as in your Profile, do a search in the TR section using "power transistor" for many prior threads. The stock TR location is riveted inside the center air outlet vent (the idea being to use the air coming out of the center vent area to cool the transistor), but sometimes people move it to another location.
