ANY info very much appreciated; please mail me : [email protected]
I hate when that happens ... Maseratisource in California also on eBay. This guy on eBay has a lot of used Maserati stuff Tony Randazzo 308 Ferrari Maserati Don't just look on ebay, send both of them messages. There are also vendors in the UK. Ask on one of the UK based Maserati forums and try Enrico's website as well. Candini in Modena is pretty easy to deal with and will know where if there's one in Italy. Isn't it the same as used on the Meraks? Good luck.
If I remember correctly didn't Bosch move all their parts related to the this system from their Automotive to the Aero division?
Thanx guys, I will again follow all your links and leads.... Hope to find one sometimes, will let you know...... In the meanwhile, if you hear anything, please PB me a.s.a.p.
I've had this guy rebuild one for me a while back.... http://classicmaseratis.co.uk/billmcgrath/parts/ But he also has a lot of used parts, so may be worth a try. He's based in U.K.....
The usual "suspects" for spare parts are: Eurospares (UK) Bill McGrath (UK) Campana (IT) MIE (US) Campana in Italy are official Maserati service center for Modena and they also bought the entire spare parts stock off Maserati. They are also planning on doing copies of original parts once the original stock runs out in the future.
Agree Maserati Blue, but don't forget Competition Motors (SE) and Candini Modena (IT). Good luck sourcing the valve unit! Ciao Marius
Marius, I didn't know about Competition Motors, sorry for that. I thought that Candini was a regular workshop/restorer, I didn't know that they supply spare parts.
You do know how to bypass this switch and run the car and headlamps without it right? Try Candini and the two people I mentioned in the USA, both on eBay.
Yes Bob, thanx, we have a steady solution now but also still a hole in the dash .... So: please ... anybody that can help me solve this: please contact me: [email protected]
Hey did you try Wil Degroot? He's on here, Exoticars in NJ. http://exoticars-usa.com/ He's been working on a friend of mine's Bora for a long time and it's a conversion project to eliminate the LHM system from the car. I don't know the status of the car. Maybe they still have the switch as a left over? Though they may want to keep for appearance purposes too? Worth a try.
If all else fails, one could make this work with an electro-magnetic valve. How are the headlights on Meraks operated?
Merak R/H drive is exactly the same ( that includes the dash) Try Pleiades http://www.agua.nu/ds-files/tony-jackson/red-cd/Parts%20Suppliers%20etc/Pleiades.pdf Graeme
I thought that the Meraks with citroen LHM have the same hydraulic system for the headlights, but the later Meraks without citroen stuff are electric.
I'm not sure that Pleiades is still around. I have tried to get them through their website and it is no longer valid. Does anyone know if they are still around? EMS
Yes they are still around. I did have a contact number for them which I may have posted on the Khamsin thread. I'll see if I can find it for you. Not sure if the web site is any good any more. Bal
