The original owner of my car actually ordered the factory not to install the Designo Pininfarina badge, 308GTS badge, and the interior GTS dash badge. Car came out very clean without them and I have no intention of altering it.

I wish I have spare set to donate to your cause but if you can not find them how about just leave the center caps off? If your axle nuts and spindle are rusted, I would just clean them up and spray them with your favorite color.

I'd be more ticked at all of the @%$#&%!! messing with my car. There are neighborhoods I wouldn't leave my car because I think I'd be asking for trouble. A buddy left his 308 outside for few hours in a pretty nice neighborhood, and some infantile jerk wrote "S E X" across the beautiful 308 Rosso Corsa hood with one of those huge permanent ink markers. He couldn't get it off, and wound up repainting the car. A way more acceptable form of vandalism I've seen was some gals (I assume it was women) writing "I Love You", and drawing puckered lips on the side glass and windshield with lipstick. I saw the owner come out and laugh, then go back in for some windex and paper towels.

I can relate to this sort of thing happening, Kids being stupid, No respect,I would do exactly the same thing, when they steal the emblems the car gets messed up , The best part of owning a Ferrari is driveing it, so who cares if the emblems are there or not? If your not selling it soon go for it,Even if you plan on selling it later the new owner can put them back if they really want.

Ethyl alcohol on a cloth wiper easily removes Sharpie ink.

As for removing badges, I have never heard of such a thing. This is totally new to me.

I certainly have always made an effort to park the car out of harm's way --- away from obvious "shadyness". But, the trouble is that I have 81,000 miles on the car. The reason is because I drive it EVERYWHERE AND OFTEN. That is why I bought it, and that is how I want to use it. It's just a simple probability that with so much exposure, eventually it will be exposed to someone stupid / destructive --- I accept that. But, I also refuse to stop driving the car when and where ever I want. So, I'd rather have no badges if that solves the conflict :)

I'll keep the badges on my 355 and 456 --- they don't "get around" nearly as much as the 308 :)

I just joined this site and have been reading through so much great information and advise. I just got my first 1978 Dino 308 GT4 and I love it. I knew nothing about Ferrari's and still don't I guess. I only brought it because it looked great and for an old car it still look new. People stop me everywhere and flock to the car. Most people ask what year it is and if I tell them it's a 2007 model they wouldn't know. I also noticed that most people after looking at the car for a while and saying have great it looks then ask, "What is it" I then tell them it's a Ferrari. At that point they all say, "Oh cool woow I wish I could afford one.

Now to the point. I hate the look of the badges. I feel and this is only my opinion that the Ferrari badges make the car look cheap and like a kit car. My paint work is in mint condition however I have already got a quote to have the badges removed, holes filled and re paint those areas. This is easily done and not expensive. As I have read it is the owners who get the pleasure out of their cars and they are the ones that have to be happy when driving it.

Sorry guys but nothing will stop me from removing the badges to make me happy and I don't have a problem with other doing the same. If you want to paint your car PINK go for it. You can always paint it the original colour again and put those ugly badges back on.

Ps: My GT4 is really a great looking car and drives just great as well. Yes I'm waiting for things to go wrong and looking forward to fixing things. I love doing up and working on cars it's all part of the fun.

    Cheers
