I left My car in a friends garage for 6 weeks. while our home was under construction.
He drove it last weekend and it ran fine.
I went to pick it up and bring it home yesterday and it would no fire.
No gas smell in the exhaust and it has spark.
The gas tank has 1/4 of fuel.

Are there any "safety" fuel system "shut offs"...

    Looking for some advice..

    Thanks Randy

Check the threads, the fuse/relay box probably has a short. Do a search on how to move the FP relay from the board and connect the fuel pump wires to the removed relay.

    good luck

    Dear Charles:

Thanks For the great info !
I never would have suspected the fuse or relays.

Thanks for taking time out to help.

Do a search on "safety switch CIS relay" -- should get you 6 threads with relevant information (308i, 308QV, Mondial8, Mondial QV, and 328 are all very similar with regard to the fuel pump and the fuel pump electrics).

    FYI,

I just had the same problem appear on my brand new just installed and reworked fuel system. I turned out to be a faulty ground on the frame end of the fuel pump "earth" wire. I had just done a very thorough check of all relays, fuse, saftey switch, wires & connections etc. including this ground. It took a total failure for it to reveal itself.

I just went through something similar with my 87 328. Here's the thread I started. Also see the thread mentioned in one of the later posts. If the electrics for the fuel pump are the same this should get you where you want to be. Hope this helps

Success! I followed the advice of our expert "F Chattaers " and fixed my Mondial.
I unplugged and reconected the electrical connections on the fuel pump 4 times and it started right up.
There may have been some corrosion on the contacts.
I may take some more time to clean them.
Any thoughts on putting some di-electric grease on them to prevent thing from happening again.

    Thanks again !

Use electrical contact cleaner first(available at Radio Shack) then the di-electric grease. (that's how I do it anyway)
