After reading many great threads on oil change, I decided to DIY. All is OK until it comes to removing the filter (2005 360 Spyder F1). Using the recomended oil filter wrench, I could not budge it, even with a 20 inch breaker bar. Should I try an impact wrench to break it loose? Other suggestions?? I am assuming the last "tech" overtightened, or am I missing something?

what are U using to take it off?

I use the Hill Oil filter tool, an 8" or so 1/2 inch extension and a Torque wrench (mine is like most around 24-30" long)

Ive never had a problem and have tons of leverage. I would not use an impact gun if it is stuck it will cause a bigger problem and mess. ( I could see it spinning the tool on the filter)

If you didn't drain the oil yet let the engine warm and the heat may help it break loose.

BTW, you are turning it counter clockwise correct??? ;)

Thanks for the advice. Was using the correct tool, and knew using an impact gun was not a good idea (just wanted a 2nd opinion) Tried it again, after having Thanksgiving turkey, and it came right off. (let's not draw any conclusions)
