Hey guys. I am considering posting my 99 GTS for sale. I love the car but might upgrade to the 430 if it works out. I would only sell this car for another ferrari as its amazing. Here are the stats. I would appreciate any feedback on value.

    99 Black GTS F1
    Nero/Tan
    24k miles
2 owners - California and Texas
    EVERY record since new.
Full 30k mile service a year ago at a reputable independent shop.
    New Capristo Level 1
    New Hyperflows
    Built in radar detector (passport)
Clutch was done by the previous owner - about 4k miles ago

    Condition:
Some scratches and a small door ding or two which cant be removed by PDR
No paint work - my paint meter says the paint is original. Carfax is clean.
Some minor dash shrinkage on the drivers side (just never got it fixed).
No major sticky issues or other issues.
Just had it in for an oil change. Headers are original but had them checked and they are fine.

I would say $55-58k selling price if aggressively marketed and it shows well. You are going to get questions about the valve guides being done and serious concerns about the original headers. Some will say it is worth less because it isn't rossa exterior and others will say the opposite.

If you want to sell it quick take $5k off and $50-53k would be your selling range.

Just my opinion. I'm sure more will follow.

    For a GTS?????

    Gonna be more than $55k.

I would say add $10k if it were white.....h2oskier is always in the market for one in white....:p

    Also.....valve guides weren't a problem on 99's. ;)

Don't sell! That's the perfect 355. I just bought a '97 rosso corsa spider, or I'd want it badly. What am I saying, I still want it badly! 58-62?

I may keep both. I have had a friends 430 for a week and I just wonder how often I would drive the 355 if I had it. It's driven weekly now and runs perfect. I expect part of that is how regularly it's driven. The economics of both are also nearly impossible to justify.

True today, but your 355 may be worth $150k in 10 years, which would (might?) justify keeping it.

I would hope so myself, but you may be shocked what I paid for my GTS this past summer. Nothing wrong with it either (guides done, headers replace, less than a year on major, all records ect). It seems to me that anything asking over $60k is sitting. Asking prices seem to be all over the place, but I believe things are trading via private party to private party in the range I suggested. Again, this is all my opinion and I wouldn't sell mine for $70k if some offered for what it's worth.

Also, from my research no year was completely free of value guide issues. Just the chance of 98-99's having the issues was lower. Not sure how true that is.

My biased opinion would say that the GTS is worth $30k more! Let me just convince my insurance company of that in case something happens :)

I would say there is no sane justification for selling it in the first place. Keep it!

I am in the market for a F355 GTS myself and have been watch what they have sold for carefully for the past several months. The prior poster is correct - anything priced over $60k is just not selling, and the last few to sell on eBay or from non-manufacturer dealerships have actually sold for $45k-$55k.

Now that's not saying that these were perfect cars, but they were attractive colors (red, yellow) in excellent condition with clean CarFaxes.

Interestingly, there seem to be a majoriy of F1s coming up for sale, despite their being a minority in terms of producton. Not sure why that is.

I think the F1's will suffer over the coming years. A classic Ferrari without a Gated Shifter is just not right.

Just buy 355 Dreamers Car. It has to be the Best Car "on" the Market right now.

    Wish I had the Cash.

The F1's on the 355 will hurt the most out of any model because it was the first F1 style transmission car in the world from any manufacture. The technology was new and it left a lot to be improved. Working well it has it's place to shine (on the track), but as a street car it is difficult at times and expensive to keep up. It eats clutches and hates stop and go. As such the value of an F1 355 can vary greatly depending on the condition of the F1 system.

To get back to your question...if you were to sell the market is only paying 50K.

I have been looking at several and the top price paid has not cracked 50K. These were even cars that had the valve guides and headers replaced.

Everyone that owns one always has there opinion that they are somehow worth more....but to who?

if you were a buyer, why would you pay more than 50K?

Top money for a well sorted GTS at 50K? I'll have to disagree with that one.

My brother and I spent the day driving by the 430 and my 355 around Dallas. We traded cars a few times and I have to say its impressive to see how well the 355 compares to the 430. I am now leaning towards keeping the 355 and buying a 550 or 575. Thanks for all the comments on value. I believe the car is worth 65k but the market probably isnt there right now. There is no way I'm selling for 50k.

The week before this...top bid on another was 48,900.

All I am saying is that this is the market right now for the car. It is a fact, not an opinion.

Now there are 2 on ebay. One silver and one yellow. Both are asking 69K. Lets see how many bids they get.

Ok, but neither of those cars had any mention of guides or headers being addressed. Who knows when they were serviced last and by who.

My point is, these cars are very expensive to maintain properly. Everyone knows that. Tubi headers alone are over 8k, and anything else is a tempory fix. Guides, if needed can quickly double the cost of a major.

So, take for your example, the 49k 355, add headers (8k) service (5k + while you're at it's) guides (another 5k+) and youre quickly up around 70k for a well sorted car. Need a Tubi? Add another 4k. How about a challenge Grill? Another 2k please.

I'm not claiming that someone will always pay 70k for a sorted car, but I'm not far off.

I will post the item number for you...260882929934

The headers, valves, and services were all done.

All I am saying is that if you are going to sell now...the price is now 50K.

But back to his original question....about the value of his car.

I dont see any valve guides or headers done. By deducting your amounts above....we are getting in the 50s.

Dont get me wrong...I love these cars and yes I am looking for the right car. This is just my observation of the current market.
