I have cleaned the flywheel in preparation of replacing the Kluber grease on my 94 348. I noticed after cleaning that the pieces shown in picture 1 below on the top and bottom have a notch machined on the sides. Unfortunately I did not see this until they had been removed for cleaning. In picture 2 and 3 are close ups of the pieces in question. You can also see slight wear marks that are identical on both pieces.

I have two questions for the experts out there:

    1) How should the notches be oriented relative to each other ?
    2) Should the wear marks be installed toward the outer edge of the housing or toward the inside ?

    Thanks in advance,

This is the way the one I did last week came apart. You can see the way the notches should be positioned hope this can help. By the way don't try to look for specs on the torque for the bolts that hold that thing together just tighten by hand good luck.

Seemmefixit thanks for your response. This does help. Do you know if the top and bottom notches lined up with each other ?

    Thanks Again,

No they don't, the peaces are shaped like that so they don't grip on the plastic sliding plates .the two notches are positioned on the opposite or each other when placed in the spring that they are in. If you zoom the pic you can see the notch on the peace under neath.
