Hey, I'm looking to purchase a Maserati the owner says the vehicle was in a minor damage, I was informed the condition of the title was "regular". I think a carfax with all the records behind the car wil let me know exactly what the title is. Please someone PM me with the carfax or post it here.

    Thanks in advance

    So Cal
I ran one for you but it won't cut and paste to your PM here but if you will pm me your email address I will forward it to you. Basically it is showing a first sale in Oregon 6/28/03 then a junk title 8/12/05 in Texas at 9696 miles and a salvage title 11/30/06 in Texas with a sale at a salvage auction in Houston.

I am no longer surprised at the misrepresentations by auto salesmen.

You can think about dropping $70K on a used Maser but $24 in due diligence is too much?

because if he's serious about buying a car, he'll need more than one. When looking for a car to buy, i had to purchase a carfax sub for 2 months in a row, and looked up the VINs of tons of cars before I found one [in my spending range], that was OK with me. Also, keep in mind that the Carfax isn't the be-all end-all, and a PPI is usually recommended.

Agreed. People come onto forums like this for different reasons. Some to hang out, some to troll, and many more to leach off other people. When I was hunting for a car I was paying for carfax for close to 6 months. Didn't think twice about paying for it every month. A lot cheaper than driving out to inspect myself. But as said, nothing substitutes for throwing it in the air and inspecting.

Its not about the money its the fact that 90% of people selling their car have a print out or a link to the carfax already. I was just wondering if anyone could help. I by no means wanted to leach off of anybody. I didn't want to waste money on something that should be available to people for Free of charge!!! I dont see why alot of people got upset. I've been looking for a vehicle for about 5 months already.
