I Just wanted to let you guys know that (with the help I recieved here) I removed my radiator today in approx. 1.5 hours with ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS AT ALL!! Thanks so much to those of you who replied to my post.

I did not remove my lower valence, but I did remove the hood. The only mess was that coolant went everywhere, and the hose clamps were rusted and a ***** to remove.

I'm going to try to match up the hoses at NAPA.

My mechanic quoted me 7 hours labor for the job, but I can't see that it will take me even half that unless I run into trouble putting it back in...makes you think about how much time they really spend on your car.

Money aside, I got alot of satisfaction doing the job myself.

    It's just a car!

    Good to hear!

Last time my car was on a lift the shop pointed out rusting (near failure) hose clamps...."These are original."

Good job! As BigTex says, it's just a car. Nothing overly magical about the cooling system.

It can make quite the mess. Make sure you put in that other T (or petcock) and the next time you need to drain the system, you probably won't make a mess at all.

    SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!

Love it. I think the hours quote is accurate ;) you're just better than a mechanic already, you are an attentive caring owner.
