Greetings I had some custom a-arms made to replace the ones that cracked on the rear of my 308. The fabricator tells me he "used the factory bushings to fit and fabricate these and that they should fit." However, when I attempted to install them tonight with the ES 30mm 13.310G bushings. They did not fit. Whats wrong with this picture? Seems to me the 30mm bushing does not work? I am off by 5mm. Would a longer bolt work and live with the over hang? I would prefer not to hack them up to make them fit. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It looks like you are putting the bushings in the wrong place. Those bushings go on the side of the A arms that mounts to the frame. There is a number of parts that go to the knuckle side of the A arms but not those bushings. See attachment. Helmut Image Unavailable, Please Login
The 328 uses the same bushings both sides, maybe the bolts for a 328 are long enough. Or get the parts from the other picture (pic superformance uk). Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
+1 -- the rear outboard A-arm bushings on a 308 are the multi-piece sleeve bearing pivoting type (not the one-piece flexing type).
much lighter and stronger! Bob Norwood did me a huge favor and made these. I figured they would be a hit on F-chat, I believe they are making them readily available now. Paul Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Now i feel like an idiot! Thank you. We took this apart more than a year and thought it took 8 of the 30mm per wheel. Thanks again.
