Guys: In an effort to clean up the engine bay on my 95' 348 I have decided to freshen up the top half of my intake. My plan is to have it powercoated, well that was the plan....I removed all the nuts from around the rim of the two piece intake manifold and it appears to be held down by the butterfly control shaft but for the life of me I can't see how to release the shaft, nut or bolt to remove the intake. Looks like nut number 50 on the diagram is the ticket but two questions. First how the h*** do you get the nut off as it is deep in under the intake and secondly if you remove the nut does the unit have a spring that would get sprung? Anyone ever removed the top half this way (engine still in car)? Image Unavailable, Please Login
If you can reach under there it should not be a problem removing nut #50. Nothing will 'spring' that cannot be re-sprung during reinstallation from what I recall.
Good info and picture of the underside of the plenum (and the nut you need to remove) in this thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43994
