Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has removed the header shields before & if its an easy enough job that can be done while the engine is still in the car. Any tips would be great.

I'd say yes, I bet you could remove them with the engine in but its a 1 way removal, they are not going back on, you have to cut the weld seams and peel off. It may look hideous and you may have grinding to do where the shields meet the header flanges. I would bet out of the car is better then you can swain coat them or what ever. I think the heat shields are very functional. I am not sure sure what advantage them has, I suspect engine compartment may be hotter and have more issues with bits melting, more heat into radiators etc?
