Hello everybody, i will install rool bar FHP on my 355. I would like to know if for the front and the rear we can use standart ball tie rod ? Image Unavailable, Please Login
If you are going to stiffen the car with a roll cage/bar you are likely wanting to get the suspension setup perfect. This requires adjustability in the roll bar linkages, as illustrated above.
generally use the adjustable. This might be mandatory if the fixed is too short or too long for the application. If the fhp bar is just stiffer with same dimensions you can use either endlinks especially if you are not going to corner balance the car with is not often done on street cars. You can also have fixed on one side and balance the car then passively install the adjustable and that is just as perfect as 2 fully adjustable links. Some bars have more adjustment holes than just one. Under thos conditions the fixed links sometimes do not provide adequate range of motion hence the adjustable link. An alignment guy who knows how to adjust race cars will ensure a flat floor, inflate tires to the hot tire pressures, put 50% of fuel load in for the race, set ride height, corner balance with endlinks not connected, set alignment, recheck corner balance, reconnect endlinks, go racing. For street cars 90% of this is ignored. ride height is set at some factory level. endlinks are just connected factory. simple alignment caster, camber, toe and just drive it.
