I'm pissed- our local CBS affiliate is showing an Orioles game on Sunday instead of the race. Unless I drive to another TV market and find some sports bar whose TVs aren't otherwise occupied, I'm at a loss as to how to watch. Maybe a kind soul will tape the race and mail it to me to watch during the week?

Oh come on guys. You can enjoy all the excitement, thrills and high-speed action of the game. Base runners approaching 20 mph, and if they hit a double you can experience the magic of the helmet-cam showing the massive cornering power as the hitter rounds first heading for second. Then you can be in awe of all the technical achievement exhibited in the latest bats, balls and chewing tobacco.
Not to mention highly skilled, outrageously paid athletes risking their lives in a thrilling exhibition of skill as they stand in left field for five minutes at a stretch while moving nothing but there jaws and ball scratching hands.

Check your guide. I have the GP airing at 1:35 Early monday.

At least I get to watch it in HD. Though I would have traded that to watch the race instead of baseball or golf!

I feel your pain Ira. I knew CBS couldn't be trusted. I hope Bernie sues your local CBS affiliate for millions of $$$.

That's what happens when you take it away from a dedicated network and give it to some big one that doesn't have a clue what it is broadcasting and thinks it has to appeal to its wider audience.

I'm just waiting for some local car accident/bank robbery/celebrity death to happen to loose our feed of the race.

Fret nyet yvette. Speed will replay it next saturday (fri mnite?).

I've been debating whether to even bother with CBS's coverage ... presuming the DirecTV "local" feed for NoVA isn't the same channel carrying the Orioles. ;)

(I can't stand the commercials on network TV ... they're an insult to human intelligence.)

Once I was in the same dilemma and found a live-narration on Eurosport not
    great but it worked.

This site has links to supposedely live radio and video feeds. When trying to catch live video feeds you have to be there early as they limit the number of users served according to capabilities of their streaming video server. Found out about this watching live Football (soccer in the US) games changed the browser to another page and couldnt get back.

    Cheers

As said before, for those interested you can see it live here.

If you follow this other link 2 hours before the event you will have the links to the available TV live feeds of the San Marino GP.

And for those interested at the home page you have feeds to 1300 TV stations around the world.

    I hope this helps.

    - Julio.

Thanks, all. I persuaded a buddy who lives in Washington to invite me over (DC & Baltimore have different local network affiliates). He and his wife had never really seen an F1 race before, and were very impressed- a couple of new converts.

That was the right race to get somebody hooked. I hope it is not downhill from here...

I was very upset by it. My fiances son was watching it in Philly and was calling every 15 minutes to tell us what was taking place. Unfortunately, this was one race we didn't want to miss. The same with one of the guys who works with me who is a die hard F1 and Schummy fan.

Not right. I am going to write into WJZ TV today.

I dl'ed it off a Torret site, F1racingworld.com. If people on the torrent site can make a 2-3 video files, I can host it on my site the next day for downloading. But due to larger files sizes, it may take me till the end of that day to get everything up (some of these torrents are over 1GB). I am saving all the races this year as well on my H/D. if/when I get a larger site hosting, I will put them all up there.

Tony- I'm not sure they'll care. As a friend said to me yesterday when I complained to her about the race being pre-empted, there are probably a lot more Oriole fans in Metropolitan Baltimore than F1 fans. Hopefully the same situation won't prevail for Barcelona.

The stupid ****s that run my local CBS station, WKYT, did the same thing to me. Totally ruined my Sunday. Watching a torrented file last night was a poor second to missing the best race in ages.

If CBS think this is a good way to attract new viewers then they are very much mistaken.

Well, it looks as though the same situation will prevail again in Baltimore- the Spanish GP is being pre-empted in favor of an Orioles game.
