I have some fine scratches on my 458 tried buffing out didn't work any ideas please.
New film? Isn't the purpose of the film to protect the paint? Or maybe you need a film to protect the protective film? Sorry, just kidding. Kai
try using a polish. if still doesn't work, use diluted isopropyl alcohol. put a little on without rubbing it. wipe it off and spray with detailing spray a few seconds applied. may need to repeat 2 times. some films have a clear on it (3M) and this can damage the clear if you aren't careful.
How deep is the scratch? Can you feel it with your nail? Adam's Revive Polish works really well on clear bras. I've done a ton of Viper door sills with it. Revive is a cleaner and polish, so it will clean out any dirt in the scratch, making it less noticeable.
I'd get rid of the car. It's fatally marked forever. Even if they change the hood section you'll have nightmares thinking about it. When you replace the car, buy the very large roll of Bubble Wrap, cover the car completely and then put the car in a vacuum sealed enclosure and never let it be touched by the air ever!
Thanks fellas just wanted to know if anyone had this issue and was able to repair rather than replace. I'll let you know when I enter it in a demolition derby.
I had a spot on my hood about six inches long and 4 inches wide that looked like it had been scrubbed with steel wool. Used McGuires plastic cleaner and polish (2 separate bottles) and 3M looks like new. http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars1017.html
