I just finished re-dying my seats, re-carpeting, removing the mice, etc.on my 348. As part of the process I stripped the leather off the middle door panel (where the switches are) and re-stretched it so it is properly attached around the switches and is not pulled away in other areas from shrinkage. All this went beautifully...was actually going to post some pictures. I plugged in the switches and everything worked..both passenger and driver side windows... UNTIL..I pressed the driver side switch for the passenger window. Heard a whirring sound then everything stopped. Blown fuse. Replaced fuse and tried passenger switch. Blown fuse. Switched relay and tried switch. Blown fuse. Took window accelerators out of circuit and tried switch. No blown fuse....but now nothing happens at all. Apparently I replaced the driver side switch for the passenger window improperly. What do I do next?? Did I somehow screw up the lifting motor? Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Terry

Maybe the battery is drained because of this? Recharge the battery and see if it works. Be sure to disconnect the wires on the battery before you recharge it.

You can't replace the switch improperly. The harness connector only attaches one way. My guess is the accelerator revealed a short that was not strong enough to blow the fuse without it. It is very common for the harness which threads from the door jamb to the door to develop flexing breaks and shorts. I would check the integrity of this first. I guess the switch itself could also be broken some how. I see no way you could have damaged the motor.
