    hi gang,

    i'm in the middle of a drivetrain rebuild on my 83qv us. valves are done and working on the bottom end.

    having a difficult time sourcing piston liners or sleeves. most promising was super performance in the uk but they will not have any until the end of summer.

    any leads would be appreciated. i need liners , pistons, rings, rod and main bearings and a full engine gasket set. i could purchase all in one place if it makes it easier.

    good question. i have been looking new but if used is the only thing available, i would consider it. i just don't know the cons of using used sleeves.

    if you have a source for either i would be interested.

    The sleeves for the QV are aluminum with Nikasil coating, getting new or NOS is going to be very tough and expensive, good used ones are out there. I'd have to check my stock of used parts. I do have a lot of good used stock pistons, but would recommend using new if you have the budget. Bearings, gasket sets etc.. are available from a variety of sources. Rutlands, GT car parts, etc..

    thank you for checking. i have been able to source everything but the sleeves have been a bit of a bother.
