There was a thread this past year, that included pix, concerning lowering the 456 seats beyond that of the electric seat adjustment by fiddling with the seat brackets etc.---

I've looked for this thread but cannot find it

Can anyone help me with this subject?

    Thanks in advance,

I have the same question, however I would like to work out if its possible to lower the position of the lumber support as it rids in the middle of my back with the seat on its lowest position. With the seat comfortable I am nearly touching the roof.

On the f355 thread, an owner made a center seat insert out of memory foam with a steeper slope to the oem cushion for his track days. This allowed him to drive without the helmet distracting him hitting the roof liner. Not certain this same technique would work for the 456 (or be comfortable for any length of time) - but might be an approach to explore.

Here is the link about the cushion, on page 3 of a terrific thread on engine removal.

355 ENGINE OUT (with 4 post hoist) THE SAFE WAY with pictures

Heres the finished install with the panels and 5 point track belts.

I also have a extra seat cushion made up in leather with a memory foam base.

This can be installed in less than a minute and it utilizes the same hookup to the seats as the factory cushion.

The advantage of this cushion is that it allows me the extra head clearence to wear a full face helmet on the track .....nothing more uncomfortable or unsafe as to be distracted because your helmet is hitting the roof.

Interesting Idea however not the solution I was after.
Ferrari designed the car probably the "average European" stature this includes a raised seat for rear pax to their feet under the front seat. Being a long body short legged person I have been continuously adjustingthe seat.
I see from pictures posted with the seats removed there is a mount track welded to the floor. Something to look into.

I have taken my seats out a number of times. I fail to see how it could be lowered by the average DIYer, with average tools, in a reasonable amount of time. I think the seat cushion idea is pretty solid.

The lumbar support is part of the issue. Have you taken the back of the seat?
