Yesterday I replaced DirctV with Comcast digital cable. Today I watched the recording of qualifying and there were lots of dropouts. I don’t know if it is Speed or Comcast or my receiver. Dropout occurred on commercials too, so it wasn’t the feed from Bahrain.

Please, did anyone watching qualifying on Comcast digital cable have problems?

Watched it on Dish. No dropouts. I also have digital cable (Cablevison) and often see dropouts. I usually find picture quality subpar on cable.

I'm not sure how much this will apply to you but I am using digital cable (Time Warner) and have been having a lot of dropouts or the channel not showing up period. I just switched the cable from the wall to the unit and it helped... if you have another one lying around you may want to try this. I literally jumped for joy when it started working because the cable people are coming sunday morning to try to fix it, and I want to watch the first F1 race live!

Thanks for replies. I am recording from both dish and cable tomorrow to as a test. I also notice the quality of DirecTV dish is superior to Comcast digital cable.

I was just trying to consolidate the number of receivers. My family room entertainment wall is a mess :( but it looks like I am going to have to keep the dish though all it is used for is Speed, and I don’t watch anything to do with NASCAR. Other than access to Speed channel digital cable offers nothing I want that analog cable doesn’t have.
