Awesome nice to hear it was a cheap fix. So which hose and how did you pin point the leak ? Oops now I see the nice big crack in the hose Guess that was easy to spot.
Glad it wasn't something big. Is that hose new and failed prematurially or an indication of the condition of the rest of them? Unless you know how old the rest of the hoses are you might want to replace them all now.
If we are talking about the big hose underneath the expansion tank then I too had mine fail. Car ran fine, drove to a restaurant to meet friends. When I came back outside it looked like the Exxon Valdez made a visit. At first I thought oil because on black pavement it was hard to tell color and it was dirty like in your pictures. Once up on a hoist it was obviously coolant and the hose in question had a big hole in it. My car had this aluminum pipe with two pieces of hose to connect to the engine and firewall. I read somewhere there was a factory update that put this aluminum pipe in place because of potential rubbing with a fuel line. I couldn't get silicone hose on the aluminum pipe - much too tight a fit to be able to slip a hose on the pipe and then try to "push" the hose off the pipe and over to couple it in place. So instead I just used one piece of silicone hose that we could bend and force into place. Anyone hear of the aluminum pipe upgrade?
