I purchased an item off of ebay on the 23rd. The seller had 47 positive feedbacks, going as far back as 2000.

Anyhow, I paid using paypal the minute I won the auction. I emailed the seller to get an idea as to how long the item wold take to ship.

5 days later, and no response. I sent the seller an additional email this morning, and still no response.

This seller seems to be a good member of the community, and perhaps he/she has, for some reason, been unable to contact me. I'm just worried that I've been ripped off.

When should I file a claim with Paypal? How long should I wait?

    Thanks.

any disputes/claims must be made within 30 days of the transaction.

I've had numerous ebay wins similar to yours, where there is no contact at all from the other party, but eventually, within weeks, I receive the package. it's your call though.

If he has good feedback, I'd be a little patient. Five days isn't enough time to be concerned. Some people don't check email as often as they should. Report back in a week if you don't get a reply or the item.

Thanks guys. The seller seems pretty bona fide, and the last thing I want to do is somehow tarnish the image of a good seller due to a tiny reason.

I'll give this another week or so to see if this thing pans out.

    No problem,

I hope everything works out for you. Next week, if you still don't hear from him use the "contact info" form and get his contact info. It should include a phone number for him. I've used this advice before when communications have lapsed and it's helped.

Good call. The seller emailed me this morning and apologized for the delay. She is in Florida (Miama) and had a few problems due to the storm.

She said she will either overnight it today or 2nd day ship it to me today.

All is good! I'm glad I didn't file any claims. I wish I had read the ebay description closer to see where she was located.
