We have an 07' Range Rover Supercharged (full size)......I only leased it for 2 yrs and the lease is up. She wants another one but I believe the 2010 will have some significant changes. I have searched the internet and found very little info about it. For now I am extending the lease. Does anyone know if the newer model will be worth the upgrade? Im thinking of just buying this one out of the lease since it's been such a solid worry free vehicle. The wife loves it too.
Any thoughts from you would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

Last year I got "08 RRSC for my wife as a Winter beater.
I will trade it for "10 model since there will be a significant update to that car, most important the engine will be a 5.0 liter V8 with supercharger (similar to new Jag XFR) with about 460lbs torque and around 500hp.
There will be improved suspension to better handle high speed transitions (car will be less wobbly) that was tested and refined at the Ring,a bit different, smoother front fascia and rear end and updated (more upscale, with more leather and better finish) interior.

I am in the same spot..I heard the only changes were going to be minor on the exterior, virtually none on the interior and some changes to the drivetrain. Upgrade yours with a Overfinch Kit and wheels it will look different anyways...problem solved.

Forget about the price of gas, it will be sitting in the shop half the time anyway. Ask the dealer about the differential failures on highways, and electrical issues that occur totally unexpected. After having all the electrical gremlins and differential failures I tried to trade it in on the more reliable Sport, and the dealer would not even give me blue book for the RR, and would not discount the Sport. WTF!!!!! You gotta be nuts to buy a Range Ruster. Seriously, have you ever noticed how many you see broken down on the highway? There are too many good SUVs on the market to buy an unreliable heap. A new $90k RR is worth $30k in 18 months, and in 18 months, you won't be able to give it away. Maybe they aren't really broken down on the highway, just abandoned...

I have a supercharged RR myself and haven't had any issues but you are correct on one thing for sure and that is re-sale is horrible. Mine is an 06 Westminster edition that stickered for around 100k and I would be lucky to get 45k.

My wife uses them as Winter beaters since 1996,had about 10 RRs in total.
Never any issues (except the immobilizer playing games in her 1996 HSE),never had any problems.
The new ones, since 2003,are bulletproof mechanically and were much more reliable then my usual AMG daily drivers.
Resale value stinks nowadays on all cars, not just Land Rovers and I know plenty other cars/brands with much worse resale then these trucks.
Sorry to hear you had such bad experience ,some people just have no luck sometimes.
My SL65 spend over 100 days in a shop during 24 month lease, the most unreliable car I ever had but it doesn't mean I should throw crap at all SLs just because I had a personal bad experience.

I have an 04 RR that has 62k miles on it.
No real issues as of yet.........
I do agree that the resale is crap.

I think I paid about 80k in 04-5 and its now worth about 19k

Still its the smoothest riding SUV on the market and IMHO the best looking.

Mine was an 06 but not SC. My neighbor had the same but Supercharged and he did not have problems. I thought I might had just got a lemon but the dealer even told me they didn't want them back and this was 18 months ago, before the market got soft. The Westminsters are gorgeous.

I have had two land rovers in the last 6 years. Both have been 100% bulletproof. I mean no problems, zero, nada- and put about 80K miles between both of them. I have never owned a German car of any make that came close to that record. In fact, I just got an '06 Mercedes R500 and it is off to the shop already.
Land Rovers are a heck of a lot better than they get credit for. German cars, on the other hand, get way more credit than they deserve IMHO.

If it was me, I would by the RR you are leasing. The resale on these cars right now is so stupidly low its almost too difficult to pass up.

As used cars go I think you can steal one and since there are tons of them around you can probably find the exact color combo/options you want as well. If buying new though I much prefered my last Gwagen and would go with a new G55. Can't beat the tank feeling of the G and the fact that every 4th car is not a Gwagen is a bonus!

Isn't this the key point? My wife loves our Disco 3 (the first car she has ever loved) and that makes it the best car in the world from my perspective :)

It'***** or miss with LR's, unfortunately with my LR it's been miss (03 RR - HSE bought with 43kmi now at 49k). Doesn't mean it's not one of my favorites to drive. I would not trade an LR for anything and have learned ALOT about the vehicle working on it myself. It's hard enough to keep this one with current economic situation but when the time allows I'll be upgrading to an 06 SC

It has hands down the nicest exterior and interior of any vehicle and I LOVE off-roading with it. I'll post some pictures of it tomorrow.

The differential failures were corrected in 2006, and Land Rover was finally forced to recall the 2003-2005 models after so many problems. Regardless, it's been corrected.

Drive one a couple of seasons through the snow and ice and zero degree temperatures...you'll soon leave it on the side of the highway in frustration. They are JUNK..PERIOD. Consider yourselves lucky that you can keep them for 3 years and then turn them in before any big problems start to happen.

When running (which is rare) they drive wonderful. Nothing like them in the SUV market. But when they start to have issues, they become a house of cards.

I have a customer that bought one 8 months ago, and has put over 4k in repairs, so far..and his check engine just came on AGAIN. Code is a body control module failure..1300 bucks for the part+ programing..yea..wonderful truck they are.

After six (6) years of having a BMW X5 4.4V8 (2002 & 2005 each for 3-year lease), I really loved the vehicle. I referred to it as a sportscar with a view!

But after those same six years, my wife wanted something smaller than the revised 2008 X5, so we got a 535xi (twin-turbo all wheel drive sedan). Now this thing really is a sportscar!

The only times I miss the X5, are when I need to swap empty welding cylinders for full ones, and my vintage go-kart won't fit in the 5-Series.

When BMW took them over, they took care of most of the problems.
They are like all other cars (Lexus breaks down too),sometimes there is an unlucky guy who gets a lemon.
I had nothing but totally reliable cars from them(10),since 1996.
