Help! Just recently I had to pull my radiator from my 308 QV to repair and replace the radiator core.... So when i pulled out the radiator, most of the old foam located on the bottom and both sides of the radiator was in very bad shape which is obvious after 25 years, but now im ready to reinstall the radiator but now I'm in search for new replacement foam. So the big question I have for those who either restored their 308s or had to repair their radiators, what type of foam did you use? can I use (open or closed foam)???? Of course the new foam has to hold up under extreme heat and hold up from coolant liquids, without melting or dissolving.... And I rather not pay for the high Ferrari prices for their replacement foam. I did a gobal f-chat search on this topic without a solution... Any suggestions would be helpfull.

FWIW ...It wasn't pretty yellow box stuff but I went to home depot and bought some of the black rubber foam pipe insulation sold in 5 ft tubes and slit it open and it fit fine and filled the gaps. Get the black stuff rubber stuff not the gray polyfoam stuff.

    Cheers

I used house AC insulation. It came in 2"x2"x4' as well as 2"x1 1/2" size. It is used around window AC units and is open cell. It is easy to work with and easy to glue down. It also looks stock.
