Just hoping someone can point us in the right direction with a 355 issue.
Went for a drive with my friend in his 355. He was very low on oil so we put 4L in to get it up to the mark.

We then went for a 200km drive and when we were coming back we stopped to check for oil and found the dipstick empty. There were oil droplets on the rear bar as well.
We put 1L in at this stage and the level was just above MIN.

He then drove back home roughly 100km and the next morning when he checked the engine there was no oil on the dipstick again.

On hard acceleration there is blue smoke coming out.

We have had the level checked and the car has not been overfilled.

There is no signs of oil leaks in the engine bay or under the car.

We have checked if there is oil in the plenum chamber and that is clear.

When the car is idling there is no smoke coming out just under hard acceleration.

What do you think is wrong and what steps should we do to start looking for the issue.

Seems as though it is losing alot of oil through exhaust

    Thanks in advance.

Do a compression test. If that's anywhere near ok, then do a leakdown. If it's not ok, take the motor out and tear it down. Bummer.

    Thanks for quick reply.

Mechanic has just taken out some oil due to slight overfill and car is now misfiring so this sounds interesting??

good news i did not see this point. if you checked the oil not at idle then maybe you just over filled it and need new plugs. this is good news check that out before you do anything

I had the same problem with my car on both smog and miss-firing. After checking on the compression, it was confirmed a valve guide issue.

Are you checking the oil with the engine running or just after shutdown?

I am checking his oil after shutdown with the engine hot.

Compression and leakdown is currently being done so will let you know.
