If anybody finds this in the future, you simply push the metal assembly upward against the spring and rotate clockwise and the assembly slips off of its positioning pegs. To install just do the reverse and rotate either direction so the pegs hood it in place. You can see the holes at the bottom of the assembly in pic 2.
