I just went to try and start my 360 Spider and from the second I turned the key, it was making this beeping noise that I've never heard before, then when I tried turning it, it made a clicking sound and didn't attempt to start the car. I assume this is the automatic alarm system, but haven't read up on it yet and am not that familiar with it. Is anybody familiar with this and the remedy?

Press the button on your key fob. The flashing light on the dash will go out. Start within 90 seconds.

Turn the ignition off, press the button until you hear 2 beeps, then start.

I know how the conventional alarm works where 1 beep means it's armed and 2 beeps means it's unarmed, but this is aside from that. After pressing the button and getting 2 beeps, I got in the car and turned the key. From the moment I turned the key, the car was making an unfamiliar, weird beeping noise, then when I turned the key all the way to start it, there was this clicking noise tha sounded like a can being bounced on concrete or something like that, as if the car was on lockdown. I assumed it had something to do with the anti-theft system and the PIN code that comes with every car. The manual is very confusing on all this.

OK, so when you try it again then it keeps doing it?

Correct, I've tried it several times and the same thing happens. It could be a more serious problem and something other than the anti-theft system, but I assumed it was nothing big. The car is brand new and has around 150 miles on it.

I think I know what it is, it's your battery dieing. Sounds like you need a new one or possibly(if your lucky) a charge.

Damn, you might be right, although that never occured to me bcz the car has the optional factory battery charger and I've used it since I took delivery of the car, except for the last 30 hours or so. The reason I didn't bother connecting it 30 hours ago was because it was warm outside and I knew it was gonna be warm today, so I didn't think it would die. I would leave my previous 360 uncharged throughout the Summer and the battery wouldn't die, it would only die in the Winter. I wonder why this one would die now after not being charged for 1 day. Any ideas why that might happen?

I just connected the battery charger back to it and it's charging, so hopefully that saves it.

It may not be holding a charge very well in which case it will have to be replaced. I suspect that it's weak as 30 hours should not make that big a difference.

The clicking noise is defintely a low battery. Heard that noise often on my 355. Interesting that the 360 gives a beeping warning before turning the key. Hope I will never have to hear that :)
