First you have to line up the nose with the front air intake and slide the nose horizontally over the front of the car. And then you lift the nose over the oil caps in the front, which can be a bit tricky. It might need some force. I know it doesn't feel right to use force with these delicate models. Also, CMC has a lot of quality issues with the 312P. So even when you feel a click of the nose getting in place, there might still be a small gap between the nose and the rest of the body, especially on the sides.

To underline the quality issues my vendor had to send back several copies before he got an acceptable example. I saw some of the flaws of the models he returned, disgraceful. The one I finally got is still not 100% fine. One of the rear suspension arms is loose, but as you don't see it I accepted it. Mainly because the 312P is one of my favorite Ferraris.

Thanks Peter, i will try to fit it...overall the model is in great shape, even the gaps from the doors and engine hood are very good (i saw some horrible models with huge gaps, but not mine....if the front hood fits ok, it will be a stunning model.

    Pedro,
just saw your PM, but since there's a thread now, I will answer here.
Maybe you prefer to hear something different, but that's what I experienced.

It was a widely, all over many scale model forums, spread complaint, that these models have issues with the fitment of the front hood.
Nevertheless I wanted this model, but wasn't willing to pay such an amount for anything not perfect.
Therefore I contacted a few ebay sellers, and asked, whether they are willing to check this problem for me. Say, whether they would handpick a model from me off their stock.
From six sellers, one replied and agreed to offer me this service. Eventually I got a model from him with a perfect fitting front hood. Great service.
The other five didn't reply at all. Poor service.
That said, it's unfortunately possible, that even when trying to attach the front hood carefully, it might not fit perfectly.
You will have to try, and if so, I would return and exchange it.

    Best Regards
    Martin

ok, i heve tried it, not that difficult, fitting is just perfect on the drivers side, not so much on the other side, but the problem is under the hodd, you have to pins that slot inside the hood, and there are to pieces stiking under teh chassis to guide the hood,...this pieces should slot between rivets, and the one on the other side doesn't...i'll probably have do shave it a litle bit, so i can fit it between 2 rivets, if i manage that, i'm pretty sure it will fit ok on both sides....just out of curiosity, the oil caps have some sort of mechanisme on one side, should this stay under or above the hood??
Oh, and by the way, i got 2 air intakes for the engine, is this normal??
