    I took another spin yesterday.

Have logs and will post. Highlights are that Bank 1 LTFT now at +5.5 with a temporary dip to +4.3.

Further testing is going to have to wait because I have a very strong smell of fuel in the area of the fuel filter on the driver side. Can smell it when stopped at a light with the windows down. It's bad enough that I think there is a risk of fire.

Dealer says Fuel block recall was done Jan 2013.

Starting a separate thread for this issue.

Well, after more than a year since this thread was started, I believe I have a resolution to the issue.

I first posted right after I got the car about a year ago. Thanks to the support of the online F community I have learned a lot in that time.

With regards to this issue, the code is saying that additional unmetered air is entering the system, either through the intake or the exhaust.

The ecu responds to this extra air by adding more fuel, hence the increase in fuel trims.

With the guidance of fastradio, I performed a smoke test on both intake and exhaust.

I found that there were several leaks in the intake system, the largest of which was at the connection of the intake elbow to the plenum on bank one.

I haven't actually repaired it yet as I am waiting on parts, but this most certainly should be the culprit.

Moral of the story; when dealing with fuel trim issues, a smoke test should be the first order of business, especially before buying parts.

Will update again once repair is confirmed.

    Thanks everyone for your contributions.

seven pictures and all I see is the exhaust clamps. That leak has no consequences on fuel trim
