I noticed that my drivers side door lock lever/switch'i'thing is broken. It's up and wont lie flat. And it won't actuate the lock mechanism. The passanger side works fine, and actuates the mechanism locking and unlocking both sides. Is there an easy fix, or a simple part swap, that I can do myself? Or should I have the dealership fix it? thanks! -matt
fairly easy. Lift up the cover, and this will reveal a threaded rod, with two nuts. You either want to make this longer and shorter. It will make sense once you see it. Or if you have used climbing/sailing gear.
Agree with above. Just lift up the armrest leather behind the lever inside.. lift from the rear of the armrest.. (instructions are on this site via search function: see door removal) There is a clip that also might have come out on the inner door handle.. could be causing problems as well. It will be intuitive once open...
Folks Thank you for the question and the instruction. I did not know that I had the same issue either since I never locked mine (being a conv). I fixed mine in two mins. Thanks again. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
oh, that door lock thing is supposed the white "lock" writing on it? Oops. Mine rubbed off, I guess. Anyone manufacture replacement, transferable stickers?
Good information here. I wasn't aware you could adjust this mechanism "in situ" and had previously taken the whole damn door off (internals) and adjusted the wrong way only to have to take it off again and re-adjust. Much, much easier accessing the adjustment through the armrest. Thanks for the info.
After the adjustment also try locking the car with RC. Sometimes it unlocks immediately after locking when not well adjusted.
Using the key, i can lock the car only from driver's side. Is it normal or the passenger's lock is broken?
Just bought a 2007 F430 spider from an authorized Ferrari dealership and both door lock mechanisms don’t work. Wondering if there is anything that I can do to make them work. Posted a picture of the inside but it doesn’t look like it has the rod from the previous post.
On the 430 no more pushrod, there are switches in the door handles that tell the door lock ECU to lock and unlock the doors. Why not take it back to them and have them address it since you just bought it from them?
I live in NY and the Ferrari dealership is in TX. I have several issues with the car that they didn’t disclose and they also misrepresented the condition of the car even though they said they went through the whole car and everything should be working. Spoke to the salesman and he didn’t offer any help with this and other issues.
Same with mine. Too aggressive with removing the sticky buttons issue. Would love a good solution that doesn’t involve sending the parts away. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
i think, on later 360s, they also eliminated the rod. see the diagram, it shows "until assembly xxxx" , it has the rod. that means later ones doesn't. am I understanding it correctly? Image Unavailable, Please Login
