I just picked up a 20" LCD and am trying to set it up with my Macbook Pro, of course it worked perfectly with OSX. :D But I can't seem to get it to work right when in XP on bootcamp. I can connect it and extend it but there is no way of having it mirror my laptop screen or even set it as the primary screen. Is there a program out there to overrule the display preference?

Have you gone into "control panel -> displays" (may be under "devices"?) and "poked" at the display settings in there? IIRC, it should give you choices as to whether you want to mirror/extend/disable the internal etc?

    Cheers,
    Ian

Yeah I did, I can get it to extend but the option to make it the primary is greyed out. The only reason I have XP is to play a couple games and when the screen is the secondary the programs still open on my laptop screen.

Hmmm - "Alarm bells are ringing...." [From the distant past.....]

    - Does the external screen resolution (as reported by "displays") make sense? - I'm guessing it's larger than the internal display? Again, IIRC, you can "drag" the 2nd monitor around the primary (left, right, above and below?) - Is that working?
    - What happens if you start the game on the internal and then drag it over to the external? - Then resize it for that screen.... Maybe it'll start next time on the correct monitor?

You are running XP SP2 (or SP3)? - IIRC, anything prior to SP2 was terminally brain dead WRT multi-monitor setups.....

There's *something* here, that I don't remember now, that "broke" XP's multi-monitor support - Anyone? ["Extended" versus "multiple" displays? Needs to be set in the "devices" menu? - You don't want "extended" IIRC....]

Sorry, I think it'd be an "easy" fix if viewable, I'm just scouring long term memory here!

    Good luck, Cheers,
    Ian

How do I make a game open in a window? I might be able to just drag it over but I can't remember how to force something to open in a window. The resolution makes sense, I hate to be an Apple fanboy but I just wish it was as easy as in OSX. The irony of all of this is that everything I bought had Windows logos and not a single Mac logo but it all works better on OSX. I plugged in the keyboard and mouse and within 10 seconds had my "windows" keyboard working fine. Spent 5 minutes downloading and installing drivers on XP.
