FNA has not been of any help. Dealer can't find the problem. Here' the situation. Car won't shift from 1st to 2nd when I'm going slowly(maybe 20 mph) down a slight incline. It gets stuck in 1st gear. It only happens when it's a slight down incline. Could the computer think I'm not going fast enough and doesn't want to shift into 2nd gear? It's become an annoying problem.

Have they checked the "bleeder screws" in the F1 housing? Sounds like fluid is leaking out on an incline. MAJOR pain in the a$$ to diagnose and an EASY fix once they figure it out.

The only hard part is that the tech has to go through hell to get to the F1 box. Tell them not to be lazy and FIX it already. There are LOTS of documented cases on F1 issues such as you describe.

What year is your car? Is it under Warranty? Whatever the case, tell them that your friend had the EXACT same issue THREE YEARS AGO!!!

Im surprised FNA isn't being helpful. They really took car of me when I needed them.
    Good Luck!

Thanks Ape. Car's an 08 and still under warranty. I'm heading back to the dealer now.

Well, as dumb as it may seem, that may be intentional. You aren't saying what speed you are trying to shift but the computer may not allow the RPMs to drop too low. Even if you had a stick you wouldn't shift up at very low RPMs to the point where you would stall the engine. The computer may be programmed to do the same thing.

One thing you can check is if it does it with CRT off. That may give you a clue.

I have no idea what it is but it's something to think about.

I was thinking the same thing ... that it may be intentional. I never thought about looking at the RPMs I was always concentrating on the speedometer (20 mph). Dealer is nice enough to come with a covered trailer and pick the car up. Hopeful for an answer this week.
