Hi Guys Just took delivery of my Giallo 296. I’d appreciate some feedback on a couple of things I have not been able to figure out. I spend a couple of hours going through all the setting and manual, and still don’t have the answers. *Is there a quick to turn CarPlay on? *My doors won’t unlock when approaching the car with the key and pulling the handle. It locks itself as I walk away, but won’t unlock. *When I have the heads up display in race mode, there’s a bar that looks like a rev counter, but it doesn’t do anything. What am I missing? Really need a rev counter. *The last one’s baffling. I get a faint honking sound, not the horn, intermittently when driving at a verity of different speeds. I’ve turned all the warnings off. The dealer has no idea. I’d love to see if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks guys Image Unavailable, Please Login
I may be able to help a little. 1. AFAIK there isn't a shortcut button or feature to quickly access car play, you need to select it in the menu. If you want to quickly leave car play in the background, hold the Home button/panel and it will drop you out, useful if you take a call in the car which WILL get you back into carplay qickly when you might not want it to! 2. You can now remotely enable and disable the unlock with the key in the pocket (Comfort entry) feature - Pressing the lock button on the key fob twice quickly switches from one setting to another. 3. .... I think I know what you ar talking about but I'm not near the car and it isn't something I've used. Could it be only active when as you hit peak RPM? 4. I am assuming this isn't the speed alert setting but does it happen, say, when you go past a speed limit sign? If it does then this may be an added "feature" Enjoy your new car!
Thanks for your feedback. I’ll try the pressing the lock unlock twice quickly. As far as the heads up rev counter, not sure but what you suggest might be the case. I haven’t pushed the rpm past 6k yet. On the weird low honk sound, I can’t seem to tie it to any particular speed. Seems to happen intermittently at a variety of speeds. Drives me crazy every time I drive the car.
Doe you have all the Nannie’s off? Maybe it’s a lane assist or something to do with those. I will check in mine. I did have to reset mine once by unhooking the starter battery in the passenger footwell. Maybe give that a try if it continues w/o someone offering up a fix. Just let it sit w no power for a few hours.

10 days into a 296 GTB myself. I think the race HUD has 2 issues for me - 1) revs don't show yes unless > 6k, but even then 20 it seems pretty delayed vs what the LED wheel shows and my ears hear - almost like it's connected by Bluetooth. It'd be much better if when Carplay is on there was a small live rev counter in the upper left above speed and gear indicators (there's space for it...)
Maybe I am misinterpreting something? In one thread you post that, Last week you got offered a likely allocation but in this thread you’ve had it for 10 days? So do you have a pre-owned one now and just ordered a new one to spec the way you want?
I've had a new toyota tundra 1794 edition a couple months....still trying to figure out all the silly crap they have added. Hate the safety features....I drive too fast and the truck doesn't like risk taking I guess...I'm going to have dealer turn off a lot of the features. I cannot jockey the truck 2 inches without shutting the driver door or the truck locks the brakes, screeches red warnings verbally and visually...driving me cuckoo...welcome to figuring out a new car. wish I had a 296 GTS...they are a really fun drive.
Yes, bought a pre-owned one with the most critical options to me and a color I wouldn't have ordered, and ordered a new GTB with custom spec - will see if it "takes". If it fails I'll have to decide between GTS or trading for something with + a couple of options I want for a longer-term car, wrapping it, and re-upholstering (Exclusive Option in Berkeley or similar). Or both.
I went by the dealer today and they found a setting that gives a warning sound when the exceed the stated speed limit. It definitely wasn't consistent, but when turned off, it solved the issue. Thanks to the responses above, I’ve resolved the other issues that were annoying. Thanks guys.
well supposedly around August or September but my SA hasn't really gotten back to me in a while. I paid the initial deposit, specced it, then finalized it when i got a slot and thats been it
