Hello!I need help on my F355. My car just died and started up again after 2 days.. hmm This happened while I was cruising around 2500 RPM, I was just about to stop, then suddenly engine shuts off very smoothly, I didn't even notice it right away. I was driving for about an hour around town. Thank God I was close to my home, towing was quick and easy. All levels are fine, the oil, temp, etc. electricity was strong. The car would crank but would not go through. But one thing I noticed for sure, is I don't hear my fuel pump buzzing. And the day I started it I heard it and for sure it started! (danggit) any ideas? Thanks guys, I appreciate would appreciate all your suggestions.
Hmmm....being a Ferrari first guess is always alternator / battery. Electricity may seem strong, enough for lights, etc. but not enough to start. As for fuel pump...well I never hear mine, but my F1 pump would be louder. And the pump is in the tank I believe so might be tough to hear.
Go to your local auto parts store, buy a $2 can of starter fluid. Spray it into your 355's air intake for 3 seconds. Now try to start the car. This is important: Does it now start? Does it start and then die? Or does it still not start?
Thanks for the quick reply. I guess its an on and off thing. I'm speculating it may be a bad grounding somewhere butt im not really sure. What would the $2 spray can do? I've never have tried that before. Thanks fellows!
From my personal experience fuel pumps can fail intermittently (which of course is very irritating!) It can be temperature related sometimes. Blocked fuel filter is also possible. Use No Doubts troubleshooting, it will help to zero in.
